For example, we offer square pre-rolled wires for sale that have a diameter of 5.1 to 7.4 millimetres and a maximum weight of 2000 kilograms.
In addition, we have finished round wires in our range, which have a diameter of 0.5 to 6.2 millimetres and a maximum weight of 1000 kilograms. If you need larger finished base wires, you can get them on request.

Crownsticks
Crown sticks are convenient to handle and facilitate the integration of the wire into production or processing lines. The length and diameter of the crown stick vary according to the amount of wire. On request, we additionally pack the brass wire on the crown sticks in plastic film to provide additional protection during transport and/or storage.
Coils
Brass wire wrapped in rings offers easy handling, neat storage and reduced tangling. The coils are available in various sizes and diameters and are also packed in suitable containers or boxes for extra protection and convenient storage.
Spools

How do the materials brass MD15 | MD30 | MD36 | MD38 differ?
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc in which the composition can vary greatly. The exact combination of brass alloy influences the properties of the final product, including its colour, hardness and corrosion resistance. Brass grades MD15, MD30, MD36 and MD38 differ mainly in their zinc content:
Brass wire MD15: This brass grade contains approximately 15 per cent zinc and has exceptional cold formability. It is often used for deep drawing operations.
Brass wire MD30: Contains about 30 percent zinc. It has good cold formability and is more heat resistant than MD15. It is often used for decorative purposes.
Brass wires MD36 and MD38: These materials contain about 36 and 38 percent zinc respectively. They are harder and stronger than the previous materials, but have slightly poorer cold formability. They are suitable for applications where higher strength and hardness are required.

How is brass wire produced?
Brass wire is produced in several steps. First, copper and zinc are mixed in certain proportions to obtain the desired brass alloy. The exact mixture varies depending on the application and desired properties of the wire.
The first step is to melt the copper and zinc and blend them into a homogeneous mass. This mixture is then cast into wire. To produce long lengths of wire without welds, we use the constant continuous casting process. In this process, eight strands are produced simultaneously on a state-of-the-art uphill casting machine, which are then formed into square wire on Bühler rolls with several stands.
The heat treatment for homogenisation and recrystallisation is carried out on stationary bonnet annealing systems. Cold forming is carried out on multiple and single drawing machines. For thinner wires, we use combined multiple drawing and inline continuous annealing lines to draw and soft anneal them at the same time.
The wire is then subjected to further processes as required, such as various surface treatments, to achieve specific properties. Finally, the brass wire produced is wound onto spools and made available for use in various industries.
How well can brass wire be machined?
Overall, brass is a very suitable material for the following machining processes:
Cold forming: Brass can be cold formed very well as it has good ductility and malleability. This enables the production of complex shapes and machining in various forming processes such as bending, drawing and stamping.
Machining: In principle, brass offers satisfactory conditions for efficient and precise mechanical machining.
Electroplating: Electroplating is also a very good option for brass. It can easily be electroplated with various metals such as zinc, nickel or copper to provide additional protection against corrosion or for aesthetic purposes.
Immersion tin plating: Brass can also be well dip-tinned. The tin coating provides additional corrosion protection and improves the solderability of the brass.
Soft soldering: Soft soldering is also well suited for brass. Due to the low melting point of brass (approximately 900 to 940 degrees Celsius), it can be easily joined with a variety of brazing alloys to create strong joints.
Resistance welding: By and large, brass wire can be joined well by means of resistance welding. However, it is important to consider the specific properties of brass and adjust the welding parameters accordingly to achieve high quality and reliable welded joints.
Gas shielded welding: Brass wire can be satisfactorily joined by gas shielded welding. The use of a suitable shielding gas and the fine adjustment of the welding parameters enable a high-quality weld and a reliable welded joint.
Laser welding: Overall, brass wire can be joined sufficiently well by laser welding. However, due to specific properties of brass, the process requires precise control of welding parameters. With appropriate settings and strict controls, a thoroughly high-quality welded joint can be achieved.
