Frequently asked questions about our low-alloy copper wire products
What are the special features of materials BD01, BD03 and BD06?
Wires made of low-alloy tin bronze have good electrical conductivity and better softening behaviour than copper.
These alloy wires are therefore used, among other things, for conducting wires in electrical and electronic components and for cables in automobiles.
What are the special features of the BF03 material?
Low alloyed copper alloys have a high electrical conductivity. Small additions of Sn improve the properties with regard to cold forming and softening.
BF03 has superior softening resistance compared to ETP-Cu and can be very well cold formed as well as drawn into fine wire.
The balanced composition and physical properties make. BF03 an excellent electronic alloy – especially in wire harness applications.
BF03 does not contain cadmium. Like many other copper alloys produced by Sundwiger Messingwerk, BF03 is one of the “green alloys” and can be easily recycled.
What are the special features of the SD94 material?
Wires made of SD94 belong to the low-alloyed copper alloys that have medium electrical and thermal conductivity. At the same time, SD94 is characterised by higher strength and better softening behaviour compared to copper.
SD94 can be cold-formed very well and, due to its physical properties, is predestined for use in electronic components, contacts and switching elements.
